Established in 1983, the Northwest Iowa Pre-Winter Rally is an annual recovery event held the first weekend of November. It’s a time for individuals to come together to embrace fellowship, find support, and draw inspiration from speakers who share their stories of experience, strength, and hope. FAQ

The Northwest Iowa Pre-Winter Rally is an annual event centered on recovery from alcoholism with the theme “Principles over Personalities.” It serves as a gathering point for individuals involved with Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), Al-Anon, and Alateen, providing a space to share experiences and strengthen their journeys in recovery.

Friday, November 1: Registration begins at 5:00 pm. The evening features an AA Speaker session with Bev H. from Bellevue, NE, at 7:00 pm, followed by an Open Candlelight AA Meeting at 8:30 pm. The Hospitality Suite will be open from Friday 6 pm through Sunday breakfast for food and fellowship.

Saturday, November 2: The day starts with an Early Bird Meeting at 8:30 am, followed by various speaker sessions and workshops throughout the day. An Ice Cream Social & Fellowship is scheduled for 9:00 pm.

Sunday, November 3: The event concludes with an Open AA Meeting at 8:30 am, followed by an AA Speaker session with Cathy T. from Fairmont, MN, at 10:00 am.

The 41st Pre-Winter Rally is scheduled for November 1st to November 3rd, 2024, at Lakeshore Center at Okoboji, located at 1864 HWY 86, Milford, IA. Registration begins at 5 pm on November 1st. The building is fully accessible.

Local hotels offer attractive off-season rates. Additionally, Lakeshore Center has a limited number of hotel-style rooms and men’s & women’s bunk rooms available. For reservations, please contact Lakeshore Center directly at (712) 337-3313.

If registering via mail, simply check the box indicating your additional contribution of $25. If registering online, please purchase a scholarship fund ticket.

Early Bird Registration is $25 per person, available until October 25th. After this date, the registration fee increases to $30 per person. Attendance for Alateen members is free of charge.
